More Pet Questions :( - Guild Wars Forums

I Have been levelling up my pet {lynx} on the minotaurs outside ice tooth cave for an hour or so and it is level 11 now. the minotaurs are level 10..
my question is can i level the pet here until it evolves or becomes level 20 or must i find another place with higher level creeps. also do scrolls work on pets? - PLEASE RESPOND

You can level the little fella until he's 16. After that, he won't gain any more experience as foes 6 levels lower than you do not give you experience.

Scrolls do not work, as far as I know.

If he's 11 already but unevolved, I'm guessing you're doing most of the killing and he's just nibbling the toes of the minotaurs. He may remain unevolved (equal to elder but gets no prefix).

well.. he usually just dies in the first 10 secs as i run around gathering up 20 or so miotaurs, then bring them back to his corpse and he gets thye exp... is that ok? and what type of pet am i going to be up against.. ?

The way you're doing it, he's not dealing much damage and since he's dead, he's not taking much damage either. Therefore he will not evolve. He will remain unevolved all the way to level 20. For all intents and purposes, he is equivalent to an "Elder" pet, but his name will not change. It's like you trained him to be first aggressive, then hearty.

If you want aggressive/dire, you need to stop killing bad guys and let him kill everyone without taking too much damage. Try lower level baddies in the Old Ascalon for the first few levels and use symbiotic bond or something that will reduce damage to him.
